Gifts of the Sultan

What a special night at LACMA, thanks to our dear friend, Oliver Furth and the DADC. Linda Komaroff, curator of Islamic Art led a private tour through a stunning exhibit titled, 'Gifts of the Sultan: The Arts of Giving at the Islamic Courts'. Also, it was such a treat to be in Resnick Pavilion on a closed evening; not to mention viewing the space mid-installation of another upcoming exhibit on Modernism. Unique Gift Ideas for the Holidays

Paris Hotel Antiques is a wonderful curiosity shop in San Francisco. We love browsing their treasures rescued from old hotels, cruise ships, restaurants and estates. They always seem to have such unique old curios and collectors pieces. Perfect for the person with discerning taste who seems to have everything!


1940's Sterling Silver Horse Cufflinks

Handsome pair of 1940's sterling silver and vermeil cufflinks with double horse heads. (Vermeil consists of a sterling silver base that is coated or plated with gold). The sterling horse heads measure 1-1/2" long by 1/2" wide. Marked "sterling." Great detail. Excellent condition.


Vintage Limoges Tray & Cup

Beautiful handpainted Limoges small tray and cup dating to c. 1940's. The tray measures 5-1/4" by 3-1/8." The cup measures 3-1/2" tall and 2-3/4" in diameter. Pretty pattern. French markings on bases of both. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks.




Rare Hotel Lankershim, Los Angeles Water Pitcher

Outstanding LARGE water pitcher from the Lankershim Hotel which was located at Broadway and 7th in Los Angeles, Calif. This hotel in no longer in existence.

This pitcher is an amazing size and holds 10 cups of liquid. It measures 9-1/2" tall and 9" from handle to spout. It has a bright shiny patina with minimal wear and weighs over 3 pounds. There is some plate loss on the inside bottom, but can still be used for serving. It is engraved, "Lankershim." Manufactured by Gorham. Dates to the early 1900's.

Large hotel silver water pitchers are rare and this is a beauty!




Vintage Sterling Bichon Frise Dog Brooch

This is one of the remaining dog brooches purchased from an estate collection of all dog jewelry. 1940's sterling silver Bichon Frise dog.

Measures 1-3/4" by 1." Marked Sterling. Wonderful detail.
